Mostly a trout fisherman but I’ve been using this system for years and it works, especially when you’re in the middle of the river and can’t quite make it to the bank.

We ran into unexpected 30 mph off the water winds at Playalinda Beach here in Florida yesterday. It made surf fishing really difficult and we only caught one whiting each. I'm from New England and I can appreciate his dedication to surf fishing. Great video.

another issue is at 76 with arthritis, putting on and taking off stocking footed waders and then putting on the wading shoes is very difficult. Boot footed waders are more manageable.

Makes a lot of sense, but the fact that I have work for my money....... I will buy 3-4 good Penns before Van will ever be attatched to one of my rods..... BUT I am not a guide for tournement angler..... I am a retired truck driver and I fish 2 ro 3 days a weeks. Noone who works for a live]ing should think they need a $1000,00. to catch a fish!

In the UK we have a heavy surf bass rod for sea bass 10 foot 1-4 ounce 30lbs or 20lbs. One of the tackle companies say these rod were designed for UK fishing. To be honest the spec our uk sea bass rod is excellent for striper bass

Great video, lots of good info. I have a question a bit outside of usual? I live in So. Cal and fish the beach alot. very different than what you do. But in looking for a new Surf outfit, it seems to me the upper end reels without the bail are all right handed only. I am left handed. Now, I am not sure I want the bailless reel, but have looked a bit. If you could enlighten me a bit, I would appreciate it.

Great job Bill, when we vacationed down the Jersey shore I used to tell my sons at low tide when the waves are giving each other high fives we will go back at the higher water. And guess what , three very happy boys! I'm in my 60's now and they are pushing 30 but we never forget that sunset. Tight lines Bill.
